Hayrack Ride on October 28th

Our class went on a Hayrack Ride Friday sponsored by the Jackson Heights FFA students. The kids enjoyed the crisp morning air while on a trailer ride over to the cross country course where they had to go pumpkin hunting. Here is a picture of our beloved pumpkin that our class chose.

" Our Special Guest-Rocky the Baby Squirrel"

Mrs. Messer brought her 7 week old baby squirrel to school to show the students. Rocky was rescued by Mrs. Messer's family. He eats dog food, apples and milk from a syringe. Rocky will be released back into the wild around 12 weeks of age. Several of the students chose to write about Rocky in their writing journals that same day.

Read Across America Day

Our class teamed up with Mrs. Hufford's class on Read Across America Day at the beginning of March.  The children had a wonderful time listening to the big kids read Dr. Seuss books to them.
